Author Guidelines

1. Scope and Focus

Jurnal Ekonosia publishes original research articles in the fields of Economics and Islamic Economics, including but not limited to:

Economics

  • Macroeconomics

  • Microeconomics

  • Development economics

  • Regional economics

  • Monetary economics

  • Public economics

  • International economics

  • Environmental and natural resource economics

  • Labor economics

  • Agricultural economics (economic aspects only)

  • Econometrics and quantitative economic analysis

  • Economic policy and impact analysis

Islamic Economics

  • Islamic macroeconomics

  • Islamic microeconomics

  • Islamic public finance

  • Economic behavior from an Islamic perspective

  • Maqasid al-Shariah in economic policy

  • Islamic economic development

  • Market, prices, and consumer behavior in Islamic systems

  • Islamic econometrics

  • Islamic fiscal and monetary policy (economic perspective only)

The journal does not accept submissions in management, business, marketing, human resources, or operational Islamic banking, unless the discussion strictly focuses on economic mechanisms, models, or macro/microeconomic implications.

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

2. Types of Manuscripts

Jurnal Ekonosia accepts the following submission types:

  1. Research Articles (quantitative, qualitative economics, econometrics, or mixed methods)

  2. Conceptual Papers (theoretical economic discussions)

  3. Systematic Literature Reviews / Bibliometric Studies

  4. Policy Analysis Papers

3. Manuscript Preparation

3.1. General Requirements

  • Written in English or Bahasa Indonesia

  • Follow the Jurnal Ekonosia template (.docx)

  • Manuscript length: 6–15 pages, including tables, figures, and references

  • Use reference manager (Mendeley/Zotero)

  • Citation style: APA 7th Edition

4. Structure of Manuscript

4.1. Title Page

  • Manuscript title (max. 16 words)

  • Author names (without academic titles)

  • Affiliations

  • Corresponding author’s email

  • ORCID ID (optional but recommended)

4.2. Abstract

  • 150–250 words

  • Written in English and Bahasa Indonesia

  • Includes: background, purpose, methodology, main findings, and contribution

  • Keywords: 3–6 keywords

4.3. Main Text Structure (Research Articles)

  1. Introduction

    • Economic background

    • Current economic issues or phenomena

    • Research gap

    • Research objectives

    • Novelty of the study

  2. Literature Review and Hypothesis Development

    • Relevant economic theories

    • Economic models or econometric frameworks

    • Previous empirical studies

    • Conceptual model and hypothesis development (if applicable)

  3. Research Methodology

    • Research design

    • Data sources (e.g., BPS, BI, OJK, World Bank, IMF, FAO, OECD)

    • Econometric or analytical techniques (regression, panel data, VAR/VECM, DID, etc.)

    • Operational definitions of variables

  4. Results and Discussion

    • Findings and statistical/econometric outputs

    • Interpretation based on economic theory

    • Comparison with prior research

    • Policy implications

  5. Conclusion and Recommendation

    • Summary of findings

    • Theoretical and practical implications

    • Limitations

    • Minimum 20 references

    • At least 80% from journals published in the last 10 years

    • APA 7th format

5. Tables and Figures

  • Tables: numbered (Table 1, Table 2, …), title placed above

  • Figures: numbered (Figure 1, Figure 2, …), title placed below

  • Minimum resolution: 300 dpi

6. Ethical Considerations

  • Manuscripts are screened using Turnitin (similarity limit: 20%)

  • No plagiarism or self-plagiarism

  • For studies using household/individual-level data, authors must mention ethical compliance

7. Submission and Review Process

  • Submissions must be made through the Jurnal Ekonosia OJS platform

  • Review system: double-blind peer review

  • Estimated review time: 3–6 weeks

8. Open Access and Copyright

  • The journal adopts an open-access policy under the CC BY-SA license (or your preferred license)

  • Authors retain copyright; the journal holds publication rights
