Meaning of Open Access

In accordance with widely recognized definitions of open access (Budapest, Berlin, and Bethesda Declarations), Pena Didaktika defines open access as follows:

  1. Peer-reviewed literature is freely available without subscription or price restrictions.

  2. Literature is released immediately in an open access format (no embargo period).

  3. Published material may be reused without obtaining permission as long as proper citation to the original publication is provided.

All articles published in Pena Didaktika, including data, graphics, and supplementary materials, may be linked from external sources, scanned by search engines, or reused by text-mining applications, websites, blogs, and other platforms free of charge, with proper attribution to the original source and publisher.

Pena Didaktika believes that open access publishing encourages the exchange of research results among scholars from different disciplines, facilitates interdisciplinary research, and provides equitable access to research results for researchers worldwide, including those from developing countries, as well as the general public. Open access is considered a vital part of the scientific communication process that should be freely shared.
